Ido Mizrahy

Ido Mizrahy’s narrative and documentary films have premiered at Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca and New Directors / New Films, among many other festivals, and have gone on to win a number of awards. His films have been distributed by AMC, Sundance, Netflix, Filmrise and Greenwich Entertainment and have been co-produced by ITVS, PBS,  BBC, MTV and ARTE. Mizrahy is currently co-creating a VR video game that’s equal parts family drama and space thriller.

Sameh Zoabi

Born and raised in Iksal, near the city of Nazareth, Sameh graduated from Tel Aviv University with a dual degree in Film Studies and English Literature. He then received a Fulbright Fellowship to study Filmmaking at Columbia University, earning an M.F.A. in 2005. Sameh's work has been shown in many international film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Locarno, Sundance, Karlovy Vary, and the New York Film Festival. More recently, Sameh premiered his feature film, Tel Aviv On Fire (2018) at TIFF and the 75th Venice International Film Festival, where the film received the Orizzonti Award for Best Actor. Along with his work as a filmmaker, Sameh developed a keen interest in academia. He currently teaches core classes in directing and screenwriting at New York University.

Janine Frier

Janine Frier is a committed volunteer and a devoted advocate for volunteerism and philanthropy. Prior to joining the New Israel Fund as Vice President of the board of officers, she sat on the NIF International Council and DC-Baltimore Leadership Council. Janine has a BA in Early Childhood Education and a MA in Jewish Education, and is a past Chair of the Board of Directors of Krieger Schechter Day School. She has served on the Board of Directors of Art With a Heart, a Baltimore non-profit organization, which enhances the lives of people in need through visual art. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of The Cavanagh House, which provides training in textile industry skills, as a pathway to financial independence, is on the East Coast Advisory Council for World Bicycle Relief, and is the USA representative of The Angel Network, which works to alleviate poverty and social injustices in South African communities. Janine grew up in South Africa, has lived in Israel for a short while, and moved to the United States in 1987. She has four children and currently lives in Baltimore.

Avi Glezerman

During his four decades-long career in academia and business, Avi Glezerman has, among others, co-authored a book on early modern European history, taught as a high school teacher in Ramat-Gan, followed by a teaching position at Rutgers University. Since his early twenties, Avi has been an activist in the Israeli Peace Movement, where he served as the campaign manager for the Progressive List for Peace, a left-wing joint Jewish-Arab party that won two seats in the 11th Knesset. In the mid-eighties, while still living in the U.S., Avi made a career move to become a business entrepreneur which included leading the development and operation of a 110MW electric power plant in the United States. In the immediate aftermath of the Oslo Accords, Avi returned with his family to Israel, where he subsequently founded and managed an industry-leading high-tech company. After 17 years, Avi has recently sold his interests in the company and retired. Avi holds an M.A. degree (summa cum laude) from Tel Aviv University and a Ph.D. (magna cum laude) from the Goethe University Frankfurt in Germany.

Daniel Sokatch

Daniel has served as the CEO of the New Israel Fund since 2009. During the past decade of extraordinary challenges, NIF has risen to new heights as the great defender of justice, democracy and equality in Israel. Prior to joining NIF, Daniel served as the CEO of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties. Before that, he was founding Executive Director of the Progressive Jewish Alliance (now Bend the Arc). In recognition of his leadership, Daniel has been named multiple times to the “Forward 50,” an annual list of the fifty leading Jewish decision-makers and opinion-shapers. He has authored articles in leading newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, the Forward and Haaretz, and the book, Can We Talk About Israel: A Guide for the Curious, Confused, and Conflicted (Bloomsbury, 2021). He is married, is father to two daughters, and resides in San Francisco.

Libby Lenkinski

Libby Lenkinski is the founding President of Albi and serves as Vice President for Public Engagement at the New Israel Fund, where she has led all aspects of NIF’s public efforts in the United States for the last decade – including communications, digital, programs, events, leadership, community partnerships and engagement, New Generations and fellowships. Prior to joining NIF, Libby lived and worked in the Israeli non-profit field for almost a decade. Libby currently serves on the board of American Friends of the Batsheva Dance Company and Heeb Magazine, and is on the Advisory Committee for the Inter-Agency Task Force on Israeli Arab Issues, Ayin Press, Schlepp Labs, and Diaspora Alliance. Libby is based in NYC and travels to Israel-Palestine frequently.
