Albi Institute seeks to influence the creative industries in Israel-Palestine by creating pipeline programs that shift the environment within which creative production happens in Israel. With the realities of Israeli audiences and politics in mind, these programs seek to expand the space for critical voices in cultural production across fields and industries to thrive and be true vehicles for change.
Sam Spiegel East Jerusalem College
Prep Program
The film school at Beit Berl College boasts the highest percentage of Palestinian students of all the film schools in Israel. This is in part due to its location in “the triangle” region and in part due to the teaching certificate that accompanies arts degrees (offering the possibility of a salaried job as well as an artist career following graduation).
Albi will support production stipends to selected Palestinian film students to bolster the quality of their final student projects - giving them a better chance of competing in national student film festivals and jump-starting their careers.
This program will serve as a pilot for film programs across the country.
