Groundwork
Groundwork is a podcast about Palestinians and Israelis refusing to accept the status quo and working to change it. To date, Groundwork has brought listeners all across the land, from Jisr a-Zarka to Umm al-Khair in Area C, from paradigm-shifting proposals and the pro-democracy protests, and from Jerusalem to Haifa and beyond, over two seasons. Season One focuses on the violence that broke out in Israel between Palestinian and Jewish citizens in May of 2021, particularly in the so-called “mixed cites.”
Season Two features “ground report” interviews with activists, and documentary, narrative-style episodes, in the field with the change-makers.
For the upcoming Season 3, Groundwork will pursue nimbleness and responsiveness to the rapidly shifting dynamics on-the-ground, releasing in-studio, interview-based episodes that, as always, are hosted by both Palestinian and Israeli-Jewish voices.
Groundwork is a joint production of the New Israel Fund (NIF) and the Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP). It is hosted by Sally Abed and Dina Kraft, created and produced by Dina and Yoshi Fields, and is content- and audio-edited by Yoshi, Elisheva Goldberg and Nick Acosta.
